The facilities at Oak Branch are equipped with state of the art equipment for video and sound recording. We are aware of the need for high quality audition materials and endeavor to keep the costs to musicians as low as possible.
The procedure for recording at Oak Branch is simple.
1) STEP One: Establish a mutually available date for you, your collaborator(s) and the recording engineer to record.
2) STEP Two: You and your collaborator(s) need to visit the facility for both a camera (if shooting video) and microphone set-up before you plan to record. This is a critical step and saves valuable time at the actual recording. This session also needs to be coordinated with the recording engineer. Pianists wishing to record should visit the facility to see if the piano is to their liking.
3) STEP Three: Recording. Plan to spend at least 2 hours for the actual recording. The amount of recording time is dependent on your preparation and prior work with your collaborator(s). An estimate of the length of the recording session can be made depending on the amount of music to be recorded. We will give you the unedited video and audio recordings on an SD card, which you must provide. We can only give you materials on your own media.
4) STEP Four (optional): If you wish Oak Branch to edit your recording or video, you will need to schedule a session with our engineer. This process takes time and attention.
The rates for using the facilities at Oak Branch are as follows:
